Courtesy – TargetSan Antonio Target is one of 17 in the country selected for a new collaboration with Apple to provide an “innovative shopping experience”, the store said in a press release on Thursday.
The Target located at 18255 Blanco Road will increase the space for Apple’s display and will house all the latest products, including iPhones, iPads, Apple Watches, AirPods, HomePods and Apple TV. In addition, Target’s technology consultants will be trained by Apple, the press release said.
Target officials said the technology company’s products are popular with store customers and hope that the collaboration will make the retail giant a must-have destination for electronics.
Four other Texas Targets in Allen, Austin, Hurst and Irving were also selected for the Apple Experience.
Target officials said several factors were used in choosing the first 17 stores, but did not elaborate. The retailer plans to use the 17 stores as a guide for future releases. More sites are expected to open in the fall, the press release said.
Target has also launched an online Apple experience and Target RedCard holders will receive a 5% discount on all Apple products and free shipping within two days.
The retailer said the local Target Apple Experience should open soon, but did not specify a date.
Apple has two stores in San Antonio in La Cantera and the North Star Mall, but both were closed for in-store purchases in response to the pandemic.
