Teams leaving Texans exchange voicemail messages

Perhaps the teams can try to slip into the Texans’ DMs.

According to a report by the NFL Network, the Texans front office is so involved that it is not receiving calls from teams interested in acquiring Deshaun Watson.

Tom Pelissero reported that some teams even “resorted to leaving voicemails with commercial offers”.

Watson officially requested an exchange and said behind the scenes that he will never make another attempt for the Texans.

Houston’s last attempt to persuade him was a meeting with new coach David Culley, but Watson’s stance remains the same.

Watson signed a four-year extension, $ 156 million last season, but he felt disrespected by the Texans not to consult him on important decisions, such as signing Nick Caserio as GM.

This can drag on for quite some time, however.

A separate report from the NFL network stated that Texans do not see the start of the free agency (March 17) or the 2021 NFL Draft (April 29) as any kind of deadline to negotiate with Watson.

And the report added that teams that are interested in Watson – the Jets, Dolphins and Panthers were mentioned prominently in the rumors – “don’t expect” Watson to be traded. This may have something to do with missed calls.
