Charlotte FC is planning to start specific football reforms at Bank of America Stadium in March 2021, according to a report by the Sports Business Journal.
The renovations include an update at the east end of the stadium, where the fan section will be located, a new tunnel for players and new suites for players and the team. Eight new broadcast positions are being added for specific football angles, and plans include expanding the surrounding square.
The project cost $ 50 million and will continue through the Carolina Panthers’ 2021 NFL season. Updates should end when Charlotte FC enters the MLS, however.
Charlotte FC is scheduled to start playing in 2022 and become the 28th MLS team.
