THE Paramount + streaming service will receive a huge boost of exclusive horror content as it is not just the new Paranormal activity film premiering there, but it’s also a new installment in pet Sematary franchise! Deadline reports that a “history of origins” is in progress.
Jeff Buhler, who wrote the 2019 adaptation, is also writing the new prequel tale.
No word yet on the details of the plot, but the film will likely tell a new story set in the world of Stephen Kingin pet Sematary. The novel was adapted twice for the big screen, first by Mary Lambert in 1989 and then by Kevin Kölsch and Dennis Widmyer in 2019. Mary Lambert also directed a sequel for her Pet Sematary, that was released in 1992.
The 2019 film grossed an impressive $ 113 million at the box office, with a production budget of $ 21 million, so it is obvious that Paramount is returning to the Animal Semataria.
