Publix to add more appointments for COVID-19 vaccines in Pinellas, Pasco and Hillsborough

Publix is reopening the COVID-19 vaccine nomination record after transportation disruptions delayed vaccine deliveries last week.

Snowstorms and bad weather across the country last week prevented Modern bottles from reaching Publix stores in Florida, delaying the launch of new appointments. On Wednesday, Publix will open appointment registrations in its online system at 273 stores in 20 counties, including Hillsborough, Pasco and Pinellas counties.

The number of appointments available at each store will vary, according to the Lakeland-based chain.

Publix says it plans to launch a new scheduling availability every Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning for its stores in Florida. Publix said the system will continue “as long as the company continues to receive doses of vaccines from the state and federal governments”.

Scheduling availability varies by store.

To sign up for an appointment, go to publix.com/covidvaccine. Publix will only accept bookings made online.
