Raleigh, NC – More people in North Carolina are receiving COVID-19 vaccines as the state continues to give the go-ahead to more suppliers to meet increased demand. In addition, the state is seeing a huge increase in the doses sent here.
Some figures from the state’s vaccine allocation report:
- North Carolina is seeing a 23% increase in the new first doses allocated by the federal government.
- New data from the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services shows that 2.3 million people received the Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine through providers registered in the state.
Coronavirus vaccinations in NC
- Last week, the state received 162,875 new first doses.
- Wake County jumped from 11 to 27 vaccine suppliers.
- Durham County went from 6 to 11 vaccine suppliers.
- In the next three weeks (weeks of February 22, March 3, March 10), the state expects to receive 200,120 new first doses from the federal government.

Many counties have seen great attendance at vaccine clinics held at schools and event centers. Earlier this month, a COVID-19 drive-thru vaccine clinic at West Johnston High School reached capacity just 10 minutes after it opened.

Due to bad weather last week, many providers will receive last week’s allocations in addition to the allocation for this week between February 22nd and 24th.
