In the meantime, Hearties are coming up with theories about who she will choose.
Hearties, there is finally an end in sight.
At some point during When you call the heart Season 8, Elizabeth will end her love triangle with Nathan and Lucas. Take the word from Erin Krakow, the actress who plays Elizabeth: “She makes a choice. It’s time,” she said during an interview with TV Insider.
As Elizabeth went back and forth between her two suitors over the past two seasons, viewers made passionate pleas for her to end her “shameful behavior”. Understandably, many Hearties have grown tired of the drama #TeamNathan and #TeamLucas – but more than anything, they just want to see Elizabeth find love again after experiencing heartbreak a few years earlier.
“It was a real struggle for Elizabeth to get to the point where she could even entertain the idea of finding love again, so there was that obstacle to overcome,” explained Krakow to TV Insider. “So, just trying to figure out which guy really set her heart on fire, who would make her feel that great love again.”
Krakow, who previously mentioned that the decision will not take place until the end of season 8, reassures fans that this new relationship will not replace Jack and Elizabeth’s love story. “We are trying to create something different. It was very important for us that whatever Elizabeth’s choice, who she will end up with, who is not just the next guy in her life, is another great love for her.” she continued.
As there is no clue as to who Elizabeth will choose in the end (Lucas? Nathan? Anyone new?), Fans have turned to social media to share their own theories.
A Reddit user points out that Lucas helped Elizabeth secure a book publishing contract at the end of last season, something that Jack encouraged her to do in the first place. This can not only bring you closer, but it can also be a reminder that Lucas supports your dreams, just as Jack did. “She is fulfilling her dream of becoming a published author, partly because Lucas encouraged her and made it possible for her book to be published. This is something that Jack also helped her with and is now becoming a reality, ”they wrote.
Another fan seems to think that Janette Oke’s book series, which inspired the Hallmark show, may have the answer. “I really, really, * really * want Elizabeth to break up with Lucas, but I also realize that the book made her marry a Mountie,” they commented on Reddit. But if the series really followed the books, then Elizabeth and Jack would have two children instead of one, so it may not necessarily be a good indicator of what’s to come.
This same fan seems to think that Elizabeth will choose Lucas and Nathan will set eyes on someone else in Hope Valley. “I also want to see Nathan break up with Fiona, especially as Kevin McGarry [plays Nathan] looked at Kayla Wallace [plays Fiona] during the scene at the train station in season 7, “they continued.
Perhaps it will all come back to fright during the end of season 7, when Elizabeth feared that Nathan would be shot. “I think the end will be that her heart can’t take being with another Mountie [Nathan] although she has feelings for him. He will handle it well and say that he will always be there for her anyway “, wrote a fan.
Fans may be leaning in one direction (#TeamLucas, FTW), but Hearties will have to be patient to see who sets Elizabeth’s heart on fire. There is a great possibility that your thoughts may even change from one episode to the next … more or less like Elizabeth’s.
