Organizers of the annual conservative conference are trying to change the former vice president’s opinion about participating or making comments, an unnamed source confirmed to CNN.
Another unnamed source confirmed to the media that Pence plans to stay out of the headlines for at least six months after leaving office in January.
The former vice president announced earlier this month that he will join the Heritage Foundation as a distinguished visiting fellow. He must also start a podcast, write a monthly article and speak at conferences and colleges in a new role like the Ronald Reagan Presidential Scholar at the conservative Young America’s Foundation.
The CPAC will start on Thursday in Orlando, Florida.
