Prince Philip at the hospital – the latest news and updates – Royal Central

The Duke of Edinburgh spent the fifth night at King Edward VII’s Hospital in Marylebone after being admitted on Tuesday for “precaution”.

There is an understandable concern about the 99-year-old prince when he starts his sixth day in the hospital.

Buckingham Palace has not released any updates on Prince Philip’s health since Friday, when a spokesman said he “remains in a good mood” and is expected to remain in the hospital until next week.

The duke was visited at the hospital on Saturday by his son, the Prince of Wales, who made a 320-kilometer journey from Gloucestershire to meet his father in central London.

Prince Charles spent only about 30 minutes in the hospital before leaving again for House Highgrove, where he and the Duchess of Cornwall are currently residing.

Visitors are currently prohibited from seeing relatives receiving treatment at the hospital due to government guidelines.

However, one visitor per patient may be admitted, but only in “exceptional circumstances”.

Prince Philip was admitted to a hospital in London last Tuesday as a precautionary measure after feeling ill.

The duke is under observation at the hospital after being taken from Windsor Castle.

No details of the duke’s condition have been given, although the royal authorities have confirmed that it is not related to Covid.

Prince Philip was taken to King Edward VII on February 16, although news of his admission was not released until the following day. At the time his hospital treatment was confirmed, Buckingham Palace said he was there for rest and observation.
