‘Saturday Night Live’ mocks Ted Cruz’s trip to Cancun and others who needed to apologize

The NBC variety show opened with Britney Spears, played by Chloe Fineman, featuring a show called “Oops … You Did It Again”, which provided people with a platform to apologize for things they did wrong.

This included senators, governors and former “Star Wars” stars.

“You all know me from my optimistic Instagram videos and the word ‘guardianship’,” said Spears of Fineman.

The first guest was Texas Senator Ted Cruz, played by Aidy Bryant, who was dressed as if he had just returned from a tropical vacation, along with a giant suitcase. Cruz traveled to Cancún, Mexico, on Wednesday, while Texas was in the midst of a strong winter storm.

“Hello everyone,” said Cruz de Bryant. “I’m not tanned. I cried a lot because of my Texan colleagues.”

Fineman’s Spears noted that Texas was going through a difficult situation at the time and that Cruz “literally abandoned him and flew to Cancún”.

“And now I’m in a difficult situation, what I was told is something that nobody in Texas has,” said Cruz de Bryant.

Fineman’s Spears asked if Cruz would like to apologize.

“I deeply regret my actions in the past few days,” said Cruz de Bryant. “Mostly, flying United.”

The next guest was New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, played by Pete Davidson.

“Governor, do you know why you’re here today?” – Fineman’s Spears asked.

“Is it because the covered dinner is back in New York ?!” Davidson’s Cuomo said, before hitting it. “Okay, it’s because of the things in the nursing home.”
The last guest was Gina Carano, played by Cecily Strong. Carano was fired from Disney’s hit series “The Mandalorian” after offensive posts on social media.

“I didn’t do anything wrong. No one can even explain what I did wrong. Explain,” said Carano, from Strong.

Spears then explained that on social media Carano compared Nazi Germany to the current political scene.

“Okay, congratulations. You explained,” said Carano de Strong.

Bryant’s Cruz then tried to relate to the situation.

“Don’t associate with me,” said Carano, of Strong, the Cross of Byrant. “I am strong and you are a pile of soup. I am first class and you are the coach.”

Fineman’s spears then got tired, so she ended the show by saying a little prayer that we all needed to forgive each other.

“So, blessings to everyone,” she said. “And live … from New York! It’s Saturday night!”
