Two women in Orlando, Florida, disguised themselves as elderly in a failed attempt to skip the line for the COVID-19 vaccine.
The pair – aged 34 and 44 – were just moments from receiving their second coronavirus injection at the Orange County Convention Center on Wednesday, when vaccinators discovered something strange about their appearances.
They “came dressed as grandparents,” Raul Pino, the health officer for the Florida Department of Health in Orange County, said during his weekly COVID-19 meeting on Thursday.
“Hats, gloves, glasses, everything,” he added.
Police found that the dates of birth listed on the women’s identity cards did not match those they had used to register the jabs, Fox 35 Orlando reported. It is not clear whether women were equally disguised when they received their first injections, if at all.
An investigation into the incident is underway. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office issued trespassing notices to women, Click Orlando reported.
