On October 1, 1971, the Walt Disney World Resort was officially opened to guests for the first time, the culmination of years spent imagining, planning and developing Walt Disney’s magical dream. Over the next five decades, the vacation destination continued to expand with new stories, characters and adventures to love for life. And now, with a major milestone approaching, guests can participate in the “Most Magical Celebration in the World” from October 1, 2021, in honor of the resort’s 50th anniversary.º birthday.
Walt Disney World Resort will launch “The most magical celebration in the world” in honor of its 50ºanniversary, bringing new experiences to all four theme parks and beyond. This milestone is so important that Disney even coined a new word – “EARidescence” – to describe what visitors will see when they visit. Disney teams are creating all sorts of new decorations that will shine through the day and night.

As part of the celebration, Cinderella’s Castle at Magic Kingdom Park will add to your royal makeover last year. The castle will feature a golden flag and a 50º birthday coat of arms as part of his new festive look.

The castle will add even more magic at night, accompanied by icons in each of the other three theme parks as they turn into Lighthouses of Magic, including pixie dust at Cinderella’s Castle, magical fireflies that inhabit the Tree of Life in the Park Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme, and new special touches come to life at the Hollywood Tower Hotel at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

And at EPCOT, new lights will shine through the reflective panels of Spaceship Earth, connecting with each other and remembering stars in the night sky. This new permanent lighting will continue beyond “The most magical celebration in the world” as a defining feature of the park.

Guests will also want to keep an eye on Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, who will have shiny new looks for the celebration. As hosts of the event, they will be dressed for the occasion with personalized fashions in EARidescent fabric with golden highlights.
We will have more to share about the plans for this “Most Magical Celebration in the World” for 18 months in the future, with Disney ramping up for the big October 1st!
