ABC is keeping the revival of the retro game alive by reviving its classic dating program, The dating game. The network has a green light The Celebrity Dating Game, with each episode featuring three suitors competing to get the attention of an anonymous celebrity. It will be introduced by two celebrities who know something about dating other celebrities, Zooey Deschanel and Michael Bolton. Actor and musician Deschanel, if you remember, is dating another celebrity TV presenter Property Brothers‘Drew Scott and singer-songwriter Bolton had an intermittent relationship with Desperate Housewives‘Nicollette Sheridan in 2008. But the hosts will not just help their famous guests choose a game – Bolton will do “special parody performances” to help suitors guess the celebrity’s identity. (Like, “Jack Sparrow” parody level?) For now, it looks like Deschanel will live without that part of the job.
