Paddington 3 gaining momentum while the studio is ‘working very hard on film 3 with maximum skill and care’
A third installment of Paddington films is in progress.
“We can confirm that Studiocanal is working hard on film 3 with the utmost skill and care – as in films 1 and 2,” representatives of Studiocanal said in a statement to Variety.
The company will work with Heyday Films in addition to Paul King, who directed the first two live action films about the titular bear, but will not direct the third.

King is currently in charge of Willy Wonka’s Warner Bros. film, due out in 2023.
Hugh Bonneville, who plays Henry Brown in the film series, told The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2 last week that the film was “somewhere on the horizon” as the “forward momentum” was gaining with production.
Both previous films achieved good box office results internationally, with the 2014 film grossing $ 280 million, while the 2017 sequel grossed $ 225 million.
The last film was harmed in the wake of the 2017 charges against rapist Harvey Weinstein, now convicted, because his distribution company, The Weinstein Company, went bankrupt and sold the film to Warner Bros.
