Tim Tebow is retiring from professional baseball: ‘I loved every minute of the journey’

Tim Tebow is retiring from professional baseball, the New York Mets announced on Wednesday.

The former University of Florida defender took his thoughts to Twitter after the statement to thank the Mets organization.

“I want to thank @Mets, Mr. Alderson, the fans and all my teammates for the chance to be part of such a huge organization,” wrote Tebow in a two-part post on Twitter. “I loved every minute of the trip, but right now I feel called in other directions … I never want to be partially involved in anything. I always want to be 100% involved in whatever I choose. Thanks again for the support of everyone on this journey. incredible in baseball, I will always value my time as Met! #LGM. “

Tebow, who signed with the Mets in September 2016. In three seasons, Tebow hit 0,223 / 0,299 / 0,338 with 107 races scheduled, 48 doubles, three triples, 18 home runs, 107 RBI and five stolen bases in 287 games.

“It is a pleasure to have Tim in our organization, as he has been a consummate professional during his four years with Mets,” said team president Sandy Alderson. “Upon reaching the Triple-A level in 2019, he far exceeded expectations when he entered the system in 2016 and must be very proud of his achievements.”
