New bounty hunters, rebellious and imperial heroes populate this competitive arena combat game that will hit the Nintendo Switch in 2021.
If you’ve ever dreamed of competing in a galactic arena, the roar of the crowd cheering in your ears, a new Star Wars the game promises to capture that spirit with new characters and Star Wars-inspired places.
During today’s Nintendo Direct, Zynga and Lucasfilm Games announced Star Wars: hunters, a competitive arena fighting game to be released on the Nintendo Switch console in 2021. Star Wars: hunters will bring players together to engage in exciting team-based multiplayer battles, featuring a diverse range of new Star Wars characters.
After the fall of the Galactic Empire, Star Wars: Hunters will connect players in real time to battle in icon-inspired arena settings Star Wars locales. Play as bold Bounty Hunters, heroes of the Rebellion and an Imperial stormtrooper, in an action game that involves players at a fast paced and visually stunning Star Wars conflict.
Today we had our first glimpse of some of these new faces, including a Wookiee warrior and a mysterious fighter wielding a red lightsaber, like holograms lining a graffiti-stained corridor, which you can watch below.
“Star Wars: hunters takes inspiration from the classic Star Wars stories and scenarios, but with an appearance unlike anything we’ve done before ”, says Douglas Reilly, vice president of Lucasfilm Games. “We are thrilled to introduce this cast of extremely creative characters to our fans on the Nintendo Switch, where they can join friends in exciting battles at home or on the go.”
Star Wars: hunters will be available for free download for Nintendo Switch, on the App Store and Google Play later this year. Star Wars: Hunters does not require a Nintendo Switch Online subscription to download and play.
