Gayle King revealed on Tuesday on “CBS This Morning” that “nothing is off limits” in Oprah Winfrey’s next interview with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.
“I know she has been working on the issues all weekend,” said the morning show host about Winfrey’s preparation for his primetime special with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
“I was told that nothing is off limits, nothing is off limits. She can order what she wants, ”added King. “A lot of people wanted this interview. I’m so happy we did it. I’m very curious.”
The 90-minute interview, aptly named “Oprah with Meghan and Harry”, is scheduled to air on March 7 at 8 pm Eastern time on CBS.
Winfrey will speak to Meghan first “in a broad interview, covering everything from entering life as royalty, marriage, motherhood, philanthropic work to how she is handling life under intense public pressure,” according to a shared CBS statement. with HuffPost earlier this week.
The duke will later join the special to discuss “the couple’s move to the United States and their hopes and future dreams for the expansion of the family”.
The interview will be the first for Meghan and Harry since they announced last year that they were moving away from being members of the royal family, becoming financially independent and moving to North America.
Winfrey’s special is especially timely when Harry and Meghan announced through a spokesman on Sunday that they are expecting their second child.

The fact that Winfrey got this important interview is not surprising. The media mogul was a guest at the Duke and Duchess’s nuptials on May 19, 2018. She is working on an Apple TV + mental health series with Harry and recently promoted one of Meghan’s first public investments on her Instagram account.
Winfrey and King also spoke in favor of the couple’s decision to step aside as older members of the royal family shortly after the announcement.
In addition to covering the wedding, King has his own connection with Harry and Meghan: she attended the Duchess’s baby shower in New York before the birth of the couple’s first child, Archie, in 2019.
