The next major update to Baldur’s Gate 3 will add druids

Baldur’s Gate 3 is still in the initial access phase, and Larian Studios continues to add more features as it nears completion. The next patch, considered the biggest game update to date, will add the first new playable class since launch, the Druids.

The Patch 4 update is called Nature’s Power, according to the Druid theme, and will add the class with all the bells and whistles you would expect from any other class. This means a new dialogue and voice, new contextual moments in the story and, of course, 30 spells and specialized skills. You can choose one of the two Circles as a backdrop for your Druid: the Earth Circle, which is connected to geography, and the Moon Circle, which has access to more combative metamorphosis skills.

To that end, Druids are shapeshifters who can adapt their animal form to the environment. There will be eight shapes available when the class is launched: Deep Rothe, Cat, Raven, Dire Wolf, Badger, Spider, Polar Bear and Aberrant. You can use the Cat shape to sneak into undetected areas or the Badger to dig underground. The forms will also open up new dialog options, as you can take the form of a bear to speak to a bear.

Patch 4 also includes many other changes, and Larian says that many of them are in response to requests from early access players. This includes optional loaded data to ensure you won’t be too lucky or unlucky in multiple moves, improved cinematic animations and lighting, improved Talk to the Dead quality, improved multiplayer mode, such as the ability to see each other’s equipment and spells others, and quality- vital improvements, such as the ability to direct friends by clicking on the player’s portrait. The announcement indicates that there is no blocking function in the multiplayer, so be sure to play with friends you trust not to steal your stuff.

“Reviewing Baldur’s Gate 3 at this point is a delicate proposition,” wrote David Wildgoose in GameSpot’s early access review of Baldur’s Gate 3. “It is very promising, but there are many warning signs that it may not fulfill its potential. But predicting the future is not really the task of an early access review. To some extent, it is fascinating to play Baldur’s Gate 3 today with the knowledge, you’ll be able to track your progress in the coming months – and possibly years – with a kind of academic interest in how AAA RPGs are built. You’ll be able to witness firsthand how rough cuts are shaped and finally polished. from the public, that alone will be worth the price of admission. For the rest of us, however, there is no hurry.
