The next storm system will move quickly in the next 24 hours!

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) – One last day of dry weather before another storm system prepares to bring more rain to Lowcountry. The morning sun will give way to clouds today, with highs in the mid-1950s this afternoon. The chance of strokes will start to increase tonight as an area of low pressure begins to move towards us. A warm front will try to move through the area at night, but how far north it will move is questionable. This will create a steep gradient in temperatures in Lowcountry tomorrow. Temperatures can range from 40 degrees inland to 60 degrees along the coast tomorrow morning. The evolution of this front will also play a role in the movement or not of storms in the area on Thursday afternoon and evening. At the moment, it looks like the best chance of a storm, including a strong storm or two, will be just south. Any move northwards in the computer models and we may have to observe some strong storms here locally. This storm will begin to spread across the coast on Thursday night, but the rain will likely last until Friday morning. The drier air will arrive on Friday afternoon and the weekend looks almost cloudless.
