Nintendo
The past six months have generally been a smooth one for Nintendo. His big Christmas releases were Super Mario 3D All-Stars, a collection of three remastered games and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, a Zelda spin-off. Will the next six months be different? We’ll find out on Wednesday.
That’s when Nintendo will host its next Nintendo Direct, a presentation in which the Japanese gaming giant will announce which games you will be playing on your Switch “in the first half of 2021.”
What to expect
Nintendo says we will see news in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and we’ll probably take a good look at New Pokémon Snap, which is due out on April 30. But it’s a 50-minute presentation, longer than last July’s Nintendo Direct Mini, so we expect at least a juicy revelation.
It is possible that we will obtain more DLC for Pokémon Sword and Shield, as the second of the two expansion packs previously announced was released last October. And with the latest Mario releases being remastered – 3D All-Stars and, earlier this month, WiiU’s 3D World – our favorite plumber is ready for a new adventure. In addition, of course, there is always the possibility of seeing more Breath of the Wild 2.
There is a chance that the announcement of “one more thing” is not a game. The rumor circulated for many months rumors about a new Nintendo Switch with a 4K capability. Not Switch Lite, but Switch Heavy. (It will not be called that at all.)
Start times
Nintendo Direct starts at 14h PT and 5 pm eastern time on Wednesday, February 17th. If you are in UK, you will have to wait until Wednesday at 22h GMT. For Australians, Nintendo Direct will take place on Thursday, February 18, in 9 AM AEST.
How to watch
This is simple: right here!
If YouTube isn’t your thing, you can also watch Nintendo Direct on Nintendo’s Twitch or on its website.
