* 99.9% chance of returning on March 1st

LOS ANGELES, FEBRUARY 16, 2021 – After a phenomenal beta pandemic launch, the cultural event of Blaseball, an absurd browser-based baseball simulation featuring very normal events like incinerations, dishonest referees and a JRPG-style boss fight against a peanut god, is making its big comeback on March 1st, just in time for Spring Training 2021. It’s this really relevant time? It might be. Probably not.

To celebrate the arrival of their next iteration, Beta but Better, the videogame conductors at The Game Band thought it would be great to finally hire PR people to help explain what Blaseball is about to reach a large number of masses, while emphasizing some interesting features and items that will impact next season. Get a snack and get ready, guys.

You see, Blaseball it’s sports D&D. The Master is your older brother and you are the chaotic brother with a thirst for power. The game will follow whatever you and the fan base vote for, including bending the rules to the point that new rules are made instantly. Blaseball simulates fast-paced seasons: with one game every hour and one season each week. Players bet coins in every game, hoping to get rich enough to balance the vote for the post-season election that takes place the following Sunday. Then, renewed chaos ensues and fans have to face the consequences of their choices.

Key new features:

  • Concessions! Now you can buy snacks! Vows are also snacks.
  • Team’s mysterious weekly tarot readings.
  • The feeding: an easier way to track events as they happen, so you don’t always try to catch up on discord or Twitter!
  • The long-awaited Crabitat! The crabs arrive at the stadium and then [redacted]
  • Wills: Deeper strategy for each team. Your community organization will go even further than before.
  • Season and low season: New rhythm of 3 weeks on and 2 weeks off, the last offering fans the downtime they need to catch up with recaps, media and events through the Feed. The Game Band may even have some surprise events planned
On Blaseball

Blaseball is an absurd, player-driven and corruptible online baseball game. It is a simplistic simulation of a sport, built in the emptiness of real sports, where players can see, bet and get around the league.

The main difference between Blaseball and baseball is the player’s participation. Gambling is allowed and encouraged. Players will win and lose a virtual Blaseball currency when placing bets on games, and they will receive their winnings for making changes to the league. Teams, team players, lineups and even the rules of the game can be changed by the community.

Blaseball it’s almost baseball. There is a single league of fake teams, with fake players and fake schedules. Seasons Blaseball are simulated over several days. Teams will win and lose, stories will emerge and Blaseball history will be made.
