Emergency snow levels issued across Northeast Ohio

ERIE COUNTY, Ohio – Municipalities across northeastern Ohio have issued emergency levels for snow due to Monday night’s snowfall.

Counties under a Level 3 council:

  • Erie County.
  • Huron County.

Counties under a Level 2 council:

  • Ashland County.
  • Lorain County.
  • Medina County.

Counties under a Level 1 council:

Emergency snow ratings, according to the Ohio Committee for Severe Weather Awareness:

LEVEL 1: The roads are dangerous with gusts and snow chains. The roads may also be icy. Drivers are advised to drive very carefully.

LEVEL 2: The roads are dangerous with gusts and gusts of snow. The roads can also be very cold. Only those who think it is necessary to drive should go on the road. Contact your employer to see if you should be at work. Drivers should be very careful.

LEVEL 3: All roads are closed to non-emergency personnel. No one should drive in these conditions, unless it is absolutely necessary to travel or there is a personal emergency. All employees should contact their employer to see if they should attend work. Road travelers can be arrested.
