You just can’t beat the convenience of a drive-thru.
NASCAR driver Ross Chastain made the most of the rain delay on the Daytona 500 on Sunday, hitting a local McDonald’s to get food for his team.
The organizers delayed the start time to 9 pm, with heavy rain falling on the Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida, interrupting the race after just 15 laps due to rain and lightning in the area.
Taking advantage of the moment, Chastain hit a Mickey D in his Chevrolet to fill up.

In a now viral video shared by Chip Ganassi Racing, a McDonald’s employee shouted when he saw the NASCAR professional in the drive-through window, as seen in footage shot from the passenger seat.
“Did you just leave the race track?” the woman asked.
“Yes! We are competing whenever it stops raining,” Chastain exclaimed, explaining that he competes in the McDonald’s sponsored car as number 42.
The food service employee handed his new friend a drink and three paper bags, confirming that he ordered “six of everything”.

“We are feeding the entire crew!” Chastain said, appropriately equipped with a baseball cap bearing the McDonald’s logo.
The Golden Arches employee also handed over a sundae with hot chocolate sauce, which Chastain possessively declared “this is mine”.
A restaurant spokesman was quick to respond from his official account, writing, “It’s the way he says I run in the McDonald’s car for me.”
Before the delay, 16 cars were involved in an accident that took seven drivers out of the race, including pole winner Alex Bowman and Daniel Suarez, who drives by the Trackhouse Racing team, which is co-owned by the music star Pitbull. No one sustained significant injuries.
