In a new gameplay trailer, Square Enix announces the return of two Nier Replicant veterans.
Replicant Nier ver.1.22474487139 has been on everyone’s minds as we slowly approached the game’s release in April 2021. Today, the game made some waves when Square Enix gave us a detailed look at its gameplay. A video from Square Enix on YouTube showed the flashy combat and some sandy temple environments. The dubbing of the video was in English, which gave us an amazing view of the Nier replicant voice actors: Laura Bailey and Liam O’Brien returned to the series.
Understanding the relevance of this news took me a little time and research. So, if you don’t know, we will update it. Replicant Nier ver.1.22474487139 serves as a prequel to 2017 Nier Automata. Also serves as a 2010 remake Nier replicant (or simply Nier for everyone outside Japan.)
The English voice cast for Replicant Nier ver.1.22474487139 has not yet been officially announced. However, it appears that Square Enix was ready to announce the return of Laura Bailey and Liam O’Brien as Nier replicant voice actors. The pair voiced characters in the original Nier replicant and it looks like they are reprising their roles as Kaine and Grimoire Weiss, respectively.
This is just the second look we took Nier Replicant ver.1.22474487139, following your Game Awards reveal trailer, and the first English footage we saw of the game. So, it’s now unclear whether other actors in the original Nier replicant will be returning to his duties.
