Yella Beezy was arrested on Saturday for carrying a gun, but the rapper says it was a setup … TMZ learned.
Police sources tell TMZ … Yella Beezy was driving in Dallas when police stopped him after claiming he was running stop signs. They searched his car – it’s not clear why – and reportedly found an unlicensed gun.
The video came online where you see a police car with flashing lights and a policeman checking inside the trunk of the black SUV.
Yella Beezy businessman Adrian Low Brown tells TMZ … the rapper said he was driving his bulletproof, armored truck in his old neighborhood to buy Valentine’s Day flowers for his girlfriend when the police stopped him and said he blew up a stop sign.
He says he was told they smelled marijuana, which he says is an excuse to search his car. Beezy says he does not smoke and the police have not found marijuana and have not charged him with possession.
As for the weapon they found … Beezy’s team says their entire arsenal is on record.
The manager says he’s trying to post Beezy’s bail. The manager says it is a case of police harassment.
