When Kenan Thompson is not playing a single parent on his new NBC sitcom, Kenan, he is being a father in real life to his two daughters, Georgia and Gianna, and a husband to his wife for almost 10 years, interior designer and Mini Supreme actress Christina Evangeline.
Although Christina usually stays out of the spotlight, fans can occasionally catch glimpses of her and Kenan being adorable on Instagram. According US Weekly, a Saturday Night Live the comedian was introduced to Christina via the talent manager Danny Estrada. Apparently, the pair got along and decided to get married on November 11, 2011 in an aquarium in Atlanta, Georgia.
“[They’re] very happy. They lived together as a couple and were excited to share the moments with close friends, “said a source Us Weekly. “She was thrilled and a beautiful bride.”
Three years later, the two received their first daughter, Georgia, on June 22, 2014. On July 31, 2018, Kenan and Christina had their second daughter, Gianna.
Over the years, Kenan talked about his love of fatherhood and how having his daughters changed him.
“I think the biggest alert is how immediate it is,” he said People last year. “One day you are not a father and the next you are. You are just a father from that point on.”
He continued: “And definitely, my beauty was sucked out of me. I didn’t know … I didn’t even feel it, but I immediately started wearing black socks and shorts and being very kitschy in stores and exaggerated questions about items that are obvious and are in my face. “
But he wouldn’t change any of that. When talking to Variety before the debut of Kenan, he made it clear that when it comes to balancing your time with your wife and children and your career, family always comes first.
“I have a number that I would love to see,” Kenan, the oldest comedian in the SNL, said about how many seasons he wants to be on the skit show. “I think 20 is a good, round and even number that I’m close to. I feel it’s within my reach, but it would also be respected if I don’t get there. Like, 18 is fine, 19 is fine. It doesn’t really matter. What matters is, will I have time for my family? There are only 24 hours in a day. “
