Austin Cindric led the last 10 laps and withstood a challenge in restarting overtime to win the NASCAR Xfinity Series season opener on Saturday at the Daytona International Speedway.
Brett Moffitt finished in second. Harrison Burton, Jeb Burton and AJ Allmendinger completed the top five.
Cindric, the current champion of the series, won his ninth victory in the series. He gave the Penske team its 77th win at Xfinity and the series’s first win at Daytona. Cindric led 28 of the 122 laps.

Austin Cindric’s win gives him the points advantage after the first race of the season. Ty Dillon is second in the standings with the help of scoring 17 stage points on Saturday. Brandon Brown is third in the season’s standings with the help of scoring seven internship points.
