PS4 reportedly receiving two classic N64 games this month

The PS4, and technically the PS5, are hosting two classic N64 games later this month. February is a slow month for PS4 and PS5 players, and it doesn’t look like March will be much better. However, if a new leak is believed, PS4 and PS5 players will soon be able to enjoy some games from the past. More specifically, according to a new PlayStation Store leak, both Turok and Turok 2 remasters are – finally – coming to PS4 on February 25th.

The leak comes to the UK PlayStation Network App, which recently published PS4 lists for both games. The listings have already been removed, but not before Reddit received it. That said, since the leak can no longer be verified and a screenshot was not provided, it is best to take this with caution. However, this is not the first leak pointing to these classic games coming to PS4.

Last July, out of nowhere, trophies for Turok were posted on the PSN backend. At the time, the trophies did not appear for the sequel, but many expected the pair of games to come together, in remastered form, because that was how they were recently relaunched on Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.

For those who don’t know: Turok, or as it is officially known as, Turok: Dinosaur Hunter, is a first-person shooter that debuted in 1997 via the Nintendo 64 and through Iguana Entertainment and Acclaim Entertainment. An adaptation of the comic book series of the same name Acclaim Comics, Turok was not only critically acclaimed, but sold very well, which led to a sequel, Turok 2: Seeds of Evil. Like its predecessor, it was originally released only for the N64 and N64. Also like its predecessor in 1997, it was a commercial and critical success when it fell in 1998.

In 2021, Nightdive Studios owns the series rights and remastered and re-released the first two games for PC, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. And now it looks like the classic pair is also coming to PS4, meaning that they will also be played on PS5 for backward compatibility.

At the time of publication, Nightdive Studios did not comment on this alleged leak. That said, if the leak is accurate, we should hear about the pair of doors soon. After all, February 25 is only 12 days away.
