A server in New York City was speechless when he received a big tip on Thursday night.
Ulyana Hrushchak, a waitress at Lilly’s Cocktail and Wine in Manhattan’s Upper West Side, was at work when comedian Robyn Schall sat at one of her tables.
When she finished eating, Schall tipped Hrushchak $ 7,000 with money donated by Schall’s more than 141,000 Instagram followers from around the world.

Schall posted a video of his dinner and the moment he gave Hrushchak a tip on his Instagram page.
The comedian subtitled the video, calling it “Best Meeting Ever !!!!”
“With just a brief warning, I asked my followers to donate whatever they wanted so that we could give some waiters extra cash during these difficult times,” wrote Schall on Instagram. “More than $ 13,000 donated and lots of smiles, this was without a doubt the best date ever !!!!!!!!”

In the video, after Schall gave Hrushchak the big tip, the server could be heard saying, “My God, are you kidding?”

“No, you can do whatever you want with it,” replied Schall. “I know times are so difficult.”

The video shows the two hugging, and Schall tells Hrushchak that the tip was raised by his followers.
“It’s a gift, it’s theirs,” says Schall, pointing at his camera. “It’s not even me.”
“Thank you very much, guys, I don’t even know what to say,” says Hrushchak, looking at the camera.

Subsequently, Schall distributed the rest of the donated money to other members of the restaurant staff.
Schall told Bloomberg that when she started asking for donations Thursday morning, she expected to receive something in the region of $ 1,000. She never expected donations to reach $ 13,000.
“I was very moved,” Schall told the magazine.

Schall, a stand-up comedian, also fought during the pandemic. After a video she posted in November about your goals for 2020 it went viral, people started giving tips on their online performances, which she told Bloomberg “made all the difference.”

Hrushchak told Bloomberg that he will send part of the tip to his family in Ireland and use it to cover rent and bills. She is also planning to set aside some of the money to take a short vacation, according to the magazine.
“I still feel it wasn’t real,” said Hrushchak. “It’s one of those pinching moments.”
