“I was honored to represent the new Mexicans at the Oval Office this afternoon and to advocate for the direct help that our companies, frontline workers, local and tribal governments desperately need. President Biden made it very clear to me directly: His government wants New Mexico to succeed in our fight against COVID-19 and he and his government are fighting in Congress to get the new Mexicans all the resources we need as part of our ongoing economic recovery after that year of crisis.
“Governors across the political spectrum have been consistent in advocating for more direct aid. I want to thank President Biden, Vice President Harris and his team for a productive meeting and for the opportunity they have given this bipartisan group of state and local leaders to join the fight for more relief for our constituents. I know that the Biden government is committed to helping us to end this pandemic and to protect the lives and livelihoods of the new Mexicans ”.
The governor plans to return to New Mexico on Friday night.
