How to use Wingman in Apex Legends: tips, damage stats and DPS

Getting Hemlok AR from Apex Legends is always a great choice, as the weapon is very consistent over medium and long range. Here are some tips and tricks you can use to dominate other players with Hemlok.

While you may be tempted to opt for the easy R-301 pie, the Hemlok blast of fire can be one of the deadliest weapons in the Apex Games, especially if it falls into the right hands.

If you are wondering about damage statistics, spray patterns and other things related to Hemlok, we help you. So there is a lot to go through, so let’s jump right into the guide and, hopefully, you’ll have mastered Hemlok in no time.

Hemlok damage statistics in Apex Legends

The left side of the table shows the damage from the hemlock explosion and the right side shows the damage of the weapon using a single shot.

Not every weapon you get in Apex Legends has the ability to switch from Burst to Single Shot, although Hemlok is in that category. Regular players already know this, but this is something that affects weapon damage statistics. This explains why we have two sets of figures to work with, as seen in the table above – courtesy of the Apex Legends Gamepedia page.

Although the damage can be greater using bursts, accuracy is greatly increased with the single shot. Keep this in mind when entering the games. The Burst, however, has a shot to kill about two to three if you land them in decent areas of the target. With just a few magazines, you can eliminate an entire trio if you play the cards right.

Against players without a shield, your opponent can fall in less than half a second with burst fire. Equipped with a level 3 or 4 shield, they can still fall and leave in just over a second.

Hemlok will not bounce significantly like other weapons, simply by lifting and going back down in the same place in Burst mode.

One thing that puts Hemlok AR at the highest level of Apex Legends weapons is its incredible accuracy. If you thought you should switch to Single Shot in previous seasons, think again. The accuracy of this weapon over short and medium distances is super impressive.

Things can happen quickly when opponents are running around you in Kings Canyon, World Edge and Olympus, so it is useful to have a weapon like the Hemlok that is easy to control – after you learn the recoil pattern, of course.

The burst of fire Hemlok forces the weapon to move up and down very quickly. The best way to approach, for accuracy, is to shoot, wait for the recoil to come back and spray again. Be efficient with your rounds here and you may have the deadliest weapon to work with.

As you might expect, the single shot mode will increase accuracy even more and the recoil will be minimal – if any. The setback here is that hit damage is less, so it’s an exchange.

Apex Legends Hemlok: ammunition and best accessories

The Hemlok is the ideal weapon for medium-range shootings.

As you may already know, the Hemlok takes heavy ammo in Apex Legends. If you see a lot of it on the ground during the loot, be sure to grab some for the battle to come. You wouldn’t want to run to another team and run out of ammo because you ran out of ammo.

If you can knock out opponents with one or two shots, that’s great, although you need to increase your rifle’s ammo capacity.

Without any accessories, your Hemlok has only 18 bullets per round, so expect to reload a lot until you find an Extended Mag. When it has a level 3 Extended Mag, you take up to 30 bullets in each magazine. Better yet, if you can get your hands on a level 4 gold magazine, you never have to worry about running out of ammo or reloading.

With that amount of firepower, you have the potential to eliminate entire teams of opponents and dominate your matches.

Choosing the right accessories, from the floor or loot boxes, is the key to taking Hemlok to the next level.

Heavy mag or Golden Magazine, as mentioned earlier, then it goes without saying.

Some optics are preferred by players over others, but in terms of the best ones to grab this weapon, you should look at the 3x HCOG “Ranger” or 2x-4x variable AOG. They come in epic (purple) variants.

A legendary Barrel Stabilizer it has to be the end goal too, if you really want to put the show on the road.

With this connected Hop-Up, you are seeing a 20% decrease in recoil, a 30% decrease in randomness and also a reduction in the muzzle’s visual flash. All three of these components are ideal. However, you don’t have to get the best of the best here to succeed. Even an epic or rare would work.
