Samsung reportedly bringing Quick Share and other apps to Windows 10

Samsung is getting ready to launch new apps for Windows 10, including Quick Share, which will make sharing photos, videos and documents from Galaxy devices to your computer simple. But that is not all.

According to a Aluminum, Samsung is preparing three applications: Quick Share, Samsung Free and Samsung O. All three applications must be available on the Microsoft Store.

As mentioned, Samsung Quick Share will allow Galaxy devices to share images, videos and documents quickly with Windows 10 laptops and desktops. As long as your phone has One UI 2 integrated, you can share content over Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth or with devices compatible with Samsung’s SmartThings platform. Aluminum reports that Quick Share is already coming on some Windows 10 devices.

Aluminum claims that Samsung will also launch Samsung Free (formerly Samsung Daily) for Windows 10, which, if true, would be a very significant launch. Samsung Free offers TV shows, news articles and games in one convenient application.

In the Watch section of Samsung Free, for example, you will have access to a selection of TV channels from Samsung TV Plus, an incredible service recently launched on mobile devices. The Read section will show the latest headlines from various news sources, while the Play section will include free games.

Finally, Samsung is launching something called Samsung O for Windows 10. It’s not entirely clear what the app is, but Aluminum speculates that it is some kind of clone application. The Samsung O will be available on the Microsoft Store in the coming days.

Samsung has formed a strong relationship with Microsoft. In August last year, the two companies announced a long-term strategic partnership “to bring perfect productivity experiences across devices, applications and services”. The launch of these three applications seems to be part of this new partnership. We’ll let you know as soon as they’re available.
