Publix will open another round of registrations for coronavirus vaccine appointments in Florida after 7am EST on Monday, according to the company’s website.
Appointments will only be available online and cannot be made over the phone. Last week, the company received more than 27,000 doses of vaccines from the state and federal governments to distribute to about 600 locations in 41 Florida counties.
The company’s vaccination efforts began with a pilot program in Florida at 22 stores, starting on January 7, using the Modern vaccine. The supermarket chain has distributed 250,000 vaccines across the state and a total of 300,000 vaccines including injections administered at its locations in Georgia, South Carolina and Virginia.
Those who receive the first dose of the vaccine through Publix will automatically be enrolled for a second dose at the same location four weeks later.
Vaccination will be provided at no cost to the patient. Those receiving the vaccine at Publix must bring either the health insurance card or the Medicare Part B red, white, and blue card. Uninsured patients must bring a driver’s license or Social Security number.
