Wendy’s must join the Deep-Friars Club.
Don’t let the company’s innocent-looking redhead mascot fool you – they’re masters of shouting out the competition verbally (just ask Steak ‘n Shake).
Now, the acid-speaking fast-food company is crying with #NationalRoastDay, an invented tradition during which Wendy vented a bunch of tailor-made insults to attendees on Twitter.
And even actor Armie Hammer, plagued by scandals, faced his flames.
“It’s time for everyone’s favorite holiday on social media”, wrote the fast-food chain on Wednesday in a tweet with more than 46,000 he likes. “Your #NationalRoastDay, like right now. Drop a “Roast Me” below and feel the burn. “
Needless to say, no one was safe from Wendy’s spicy skillet.
“Cheers for invented holidays,” tweeted New Belgium Brewing. “You can start baking, we have a fat tire ready to soothe the burn.”
Wendy thanked him, tweeting: “Ah, the classic ‘at least it’s not Bud Light’ option at the barbecue. #NationalRoastDay. “
The hamburger chain took the gas out of Coca-Cola in writing, “Can I get a glass of water? #NationalRoastDay. ”They were referring to a frequent order placed by profiteers from fast-food suppliers.
Responding to an Oreo roast order, they wrote: “New flavor idea: don’t do it.”
And they absolutely melted Velveeta with the splinter: “How are you a verified account when it’s not even a verified cheese? #NationalRoastDay. “
It wasn’t just the food and beverage companies that were bitten by Wendy’s linguistic meat grinder.
In her hottest roast in the thread, Wendy flamed Lionsgate films with a reference to actor “Social Network” Armie Hammer, who recently made headlines for alleged cannibalistic desires.
“We give you a hand, but we’re afraid that one of your actors might eat it,” they joked at tweet now deleted.
They also disfigured the “Twilight” franchise with, “Say the name of an actor who is not trying to live down in his films.”
“Congratulations on being the number one search engine site that comes up when people misspell Google,” they attacked Microsoft Bing.
Meanwhile, T-Mobile’s ears are undoubtedly still ringing of this boutique burn: “Please wait, a roasting representative will be with you in 2 to 14 hours.”
Wendy even shot the insulting king himself, UK chef and host of “Kitchen Nightmares” Gordon Ramsay, for allegedly copying his methods. “Create a food empire to insult people to stay relevant? Really original, Gordon, ” they tweeted together with a photo of the iconic meme “Spider-Man vs. Spider-Man ”with images of Wendy and Ramsay digitally pasted on superheroes.
Wendy’s is no stranger to serving burns. Like a Michael Corleone who makes hamburgers from “The Godfather”, they verbally murdered almost all of their fast-food rivals, from Burger King to McDonalds.
