Pour your Apple Mac and get a PC (says Intel)

It is not good enough, apparently.

Hell does not have the fury of a chip maker who has just heard from his longtime lover who prefers to be alone.

Since Apple launched its own Silicon M1 chip in new MacBooks, Intel has hired a new CEO and sought out a support group.

Now, Intel’s new CEO, Pat Gelsinger, immediately urged his team: “We have to provide better products for the PC ecosystem than anything possible for a lifestyle company in Cupertino” to do.

And now your company is launching insults against Apple in the very home of the insults – Twitter.

On Wednesday, Intel’s own Twitter feed offered Tough words for Apple: “If you can propel a rocket launch and launch the Rocket League, you’re not on a Mac. Go to PC.”

You may not even be on the right path to a balanced life, but those are powerful and offensive words. Go player-scientists, you can save the world.

This was a continuation of last week’s mockery in Cupertino: “If you can thumb up Photoshop thumbnails with your real thumb, you’re not on a Mac. Go to PC.”

To which Intel added: “Only one PC offers tablet mode, touch screen and stylus features in a single device.”

Oh, is this an ad for Microsoft Surface?

Furthermore: Laptops we love: most ZDNet writers prefer this notebook over all others

Each of these ads leads to a nine-minute video by YouTuber Jon Rettinger, in which, surprisingly, he exposes the shortcomings of the Mac M1, suggests that Intel has a wonderful future, extols the Intel Evo brand and loves the Asus ZenBook Flip S .

Mocking a MacBook for having only one USB-C port seems a little shortsighted when the physical design of the MacBook M1 is identical to that of the MacBook that had Intel inside.

Oddly, Apple still sells computers with Intel processors. And this campaign looks a bit like a tearful Brad playing bricks against Angelina.

However, there is an urgent agenda here.

Of course, Gelsinger has to express confidence in his company after a painful blow. But above all, campaigns like this exist to bolster internal morale, rather than instantly instigating a massive migration of Apple users.

Some may wonder where this aggressive Intel was when Apple was making progress in creating its own guts.

But who can’t wait for Intel’s next announcement against Apple? It’s a technique that always works, right?
