Here’s what to know Friday

  • The State Department of Health and Environmental Control reported 1,428 new confirmed cases and 84 new deaths across the state on Thursday.
  • Most Upstate vaccines through Prism will be given at the former K-Mart site in Greenville. Consolidations would take place over a three-week schedule, starting on February 15 with consolidations in Greenville.
  • State health officials said problems with sending vaccines earlier this week affected at least 14 facilities in South Carolina, including Prisma Health, and affected about a dozen states.
  • The latest COVID-19 State Profile Report shows that South Carolina leads all states in new cases per 100,000 people last week, despite the drop in the number of cases and positivity rates.
  • Greenville County Schools administrators came up with a plan to spend $ 38.5 million in COVID funds to remedy struggling students.
  • Prisma Health says that delays in sending vaccines have resulted in delays and cancellations of vaccination appointments in the past two days.
