With that, the total number of vaccination posts in the state reaches 860.

More than 3.2 million residents of the state are eligible for vaccinations in Phase 1B, which includes people aged 65 and over, as well as “essential frontline workers”.
The state will expand the list of people eligible for COVID-19 vaccinations in Phase 1B of its launch, Governor JB Pritzker announced on Wednesday, opening the vaccination for people with “a high-risk medical condition” or comorbidity to be vaccinated . The list includes people with cancer, diabetes, obesity, pregnant women and people with several other illnesses.
Current vaccination sites in the state are available by appointment only, but the state plans to launch care facilities in the coming weeks, officials said earlier.
In addition to the above locations, the DuPage County Health Department has transferred its vaccination to the clinic at the DuPage County Fairgrounds in Wheaton to expand capacity. The new space was opened for vaccines this Wednesday.
Still, despite the added sites, Illinois officials continue to ask for patience, saying the vaccine supply is limited.
“We are limited by the amount of vaccine available and allocated by the federal government,” said the governor’s office in a note. “Vaccines are only available by appointment at this time and we encourage people to come back frequently to see if there are any open appointments. Until the supply is increased, there will be a great demand and we ask that people be patient ”.
