Gina Carano was set to get the Mandalorian spin-off series before firing
The fans found revenge yesterday, when Lucasfilm finally decided to give the ax to Gina Carano The Mandalorian and the world of Star Wars due to controversial posts on social media, but a new report from The Hollywood Reporter reveals that the studio originally had a different path in mind and was ready to give the actress her own show.

Sources report that Lucasfilm was originally preparing to offer the actress a spin-off series featuring her character Cara Dune as the protagonist that would be revealed at Disney Investor Day in December, but after her first round of controversy on social media in November ended with that plans. In addition, the studio was supposedly just keeping the actress in an unofficial probationary status and keeping a close eye on her behavior and hoping she would give them a reason to fire her.
“Gina Carano does not currently work at Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her in the future”, A Lucasfilm spokesman said in a statement. “However, their posts on social media denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are disgusting and unacceptable.“
What was the straw that broke the camel’s back? Carano recently wrote an Instagram post comparing being a Republican in the United States to being a Jew in Nazi Germany.
“Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers, but by their neighbors … even by children. As the story is edited, most people today do not realize that, to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily arrest thousands of Jews, the government first caused its own neighbors to hate them simply because they were Jews. How different this is from hating someone for their political opinions. “
This post was deleted from Carano’s IG, but the hashtag #FireGinaCarano has been on the rise on Twitter since it was published and screenshots of her and other insensitive posts continue to circulate.

It was also widely expected that Carano would return to The Mandalorian Season 3 and that it was rumored that she would be a main character in New Republic Rangers, an upcoming spinoff series, although his resignation is likely to cause the character to be eliminated from the universe and another character considered to be the project leader.
