Trump’s impeachment team should only take 1 of the 2 assigned days
The arguments in ex-president Donald Trump’s second impeachment trial are moving to an end, with the ex-president’s team planning to conclude on Friday. The House of Democrats impeachment managers on Thursday continued to plead their case for Trump’s sentencing in his second impeachment trial, and the arguments for Trump’s defense are set to start on Friday. But CNN reports that the president’s team should not use the 16 hours allocated to them for presentations, and they hope to finish their arguments on Friday night. Trump adviser Jason Miller confirmed on Twitter that “we will finish our presentation tomorrow”. Miller also told Fox News’ John Roberts that the ex-president’s team hopes to finish on Friday with enough time for senators to start asking questions. “After the opening of discussions, senators still have up to four hours to ask questions,” reports The Hill. This timeline, noted CNN’s Manu Raju, would set the stage for a final vote that would potentially take place on Saturday. In fact, Politician Kyle Cheney reports that “senators appear to be uniting behind the notion that the trial will end on Saturday”, adding that “House administrators have not said whether they plan to call witnesses, but senators seem to assume that they are not they will. “Senator Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) told reporters,” Saturday is looking better all the time, I would think of a final vote, “according to The Hill, although Senator Shelley Moore Capito (RW .V.) Suggested “it might be more like Sunday.” On Friday, CNN reports that lawyers David Schoen, Bruce Castor, Michael van der Veen and William Brennan should speak, but “because the legal team is so disorganized, Trump’s allies are apprehensive about how the defense will go. ” More stories from theweek.comThe most important person in the impeachment trial is missing.
