WBTW-TV reports that the girl and her dog were sitting in a car outside a Quality Inn Tuesday at Charleston Highway around 8.50 pm, when a man jumped into his mother’s Lexus sedan and drove away.
The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division issued an Amber Alert at around 11:30 pm, which was canceled when the girl and her dog were located just after midnight. The Lexington County Sheriff’s Office helped the Cayce Department of Public Security find the girl and her pet.
The suspect was described as an African American man about 5 feet and 7 inches tall, with short dreadlocks. The stolen car is a beige Lexus 2003. It has a broken tail light, no license plate and a white sticker on the rear window with three bears in it, and a mark on the passenger door.
