Fans raise Pedro Pascal’s tweets amid Gina Carano’s resignation

“The Mandalorian” star Pedro Pascal is having a great week – expressing support for his trans sister on Instagram, announcing a new role on TV and some drama on Twitter due to the resignation of his colleague Gina Carano.

On Twitter, some pulled Pascal’s name into the controversy surrounding the recent dismissal of former MMA fighter Gina Carano from “The Mandalorian” after a social media post in which the 38-year-old actress compared being Republican to Jewish in Nazi germany.

“Gina Carano is not currently working at Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her in the future,” said a Lucasfilm spokesman in a statement on Wednesday. “However, your posts on social media denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable.”

Some conservatives found the decision hypocritical, as Pascal, 45, received no apparent consequences for his comparison of Donald Trump’s supporters with the Nazis in a November post he later deleted.

“Pedro Pascal, who plays the Mandalorian at Disney Plus, was not fired for this Instagram post comparing Trump supporters to Nazis and Confederates,” tweeted a frustrated critic.
