A 24-year-old Malabar was charged with the murder of Andrea Bharatt, a 22-year-old clerk.

Sources said Negus George, from 7th Street, Gooding Trace, Malabar, was charged Thursday morning with Bharatt’s murder after investigators received advice from Director of Public Prosecutor (DPP) Roger Gaspard on Wednesday afternoon.

A 37-year-old relative who was also arrested should be charged with receiving stolen items, including Bharatt’s clothes and cell phone.

Investigators at the Arima CID lodged the charges.

Bharatt’s body was found in the Aripo Hills on February 4.
