The buzz about Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz is growing rapidly. But it’s getting hard to know what to believe.
Ben Albright, an NFL reporter for KOA Radio in Denver, says “Niners and (surprise) Texans made calls that I know. Too many ‘offers’ leaking, which usually means that the team looking for a player is still fishing. … Basically 2 or 3 teams, but not in the Eagles price range. ‘Compensation’ leaks from the Philadelphia side, because they are trying to involve the teams and push the price up. Some other teams called to ask about the price, but made no offer. “
But at the same time, the John McClain of the Houston Chronicle says the Texans, who are buying quarterback Deshaun Watson, are not a likely commercial candidate with the Eagles.
They don’t call teams. The teams call them. And they told everyone that they are not changing Watson. It does not mean that they will not do that eventually. I guarantee that if they did, it wouldn’t be for Carson Wentz and the Eagles. And they said it publicly, they said privately that they are not negotiating Watson. And then anyone who says that they called the Eagles is not true. If they negotiated it, it would be [to] The Jets. So no, they didn’t contact anyone about Watson’s exchange.

As for the Wentz rumors, the two teams most closely linked to the Eagles are the Indianapolis Colts and the Chicago Bears.
The Colts can be the pioneers of Wentz, as they have a lot of room for matches, need a QB after Philip Rivers’ retirement and have two former Wentz teachers on the team: coach Frank Reich and coach of wide receivers Mike Groh .
But the Bears also make sense as a possible destination for Wentz. Chicago remains interested in moving from QB Mitch Trubisky. The Bears also have Nick Foles as a defender, which can be an interesting move as part of a Wentz exchange. In addition, on Monday, the Bears promoted former Wentz confidant John DeFilippo to coordinate the game.
