A Stanford pediatrician was arrested for allegedly sending pornographic images to an underage girl and trying to have sex with her, police said on Tuesday.
Dr. Dylan O’Connor, 33, who works at Stanford Lucille Packard Children’s Hospital in Palo Alto, California, was arrested last Friday in a police operation in Redwood City, according to the police.
Redwood City police began investigating O’Connor after receiving a report from another unit of the police agency that monitors the illegal exchange of images involving children.

During the investigation, they discovered pornographic images allegedly sent by O’Connor to the girl.
O’Connor is accused of trying to meet with the reported underage victim to have sex with her, police said.

The pediatrician was arrested by the police as soon as he arrived. He is accused of sending harmful material to a young man and traveling to meet a minor for obscene purposes.
The police are investigating whether there are more victims.

A Stanford Medicine spokeswoman told the San Francisco Chronicle in a statement that O’Connor was placed on unpaid administrative leave.
“These are serious criminal charges, which we understand are still under investigation by law enforcement authorities, so we cannot comment further at the moment,” said the spokeswoman.
