NEW YORK (February 10, 2021) – The National Hockey League announced today that, immediately after notification that one of its players returned a positive test for COVID-19, striker for the Vegas Golden Knights Tomas Nosek was removed from Tuesday night’s game against Anaheim under the terms of the League’s COVID Protocol. Nosek was immediately isolated from his comrades and tracking of close contacts began, also according to the Protocol.
Tomorrow’s game in Las Vegas between the Golden Knights and Ducks continues to be scheduled for 10 pm ET / 7 pm PT. Rapid PCR point of care tests will be administered to all players and employees of both teams prior to that game (in addition to the daily laboratory-based PCR test) and any decision on potential postponement will be made by the League, NHLPA and Clubs following all COVID protocols and local and federal regulations.
The Vegas organization has followed, and will continue to follow, all recommended guidelines designed to protect the health and safety of its players, team and community in general, as established by the NHL, local, state and national agencies.
