The South Carolina men’s basketball team is gearing up to face Alabama at Colonial Life Arena. Both teams are coming off defeats with Crimson Tide losing their first SEC game of the season last Saturday to Missouri, while the Gamecocks lost at home to Mississippi State. 11:46 am, 1 am – Alabama was not quiet for long with Joshua Primo knocking down a few triples. Alabama crawled back into the spot, but Jalyn McCreary had a bucket on the track to keep the Gamecocks on top. Alabama ball coming out of the media timeout. Carolina leads 18-15

8:03, 1H – South Carolina is clinging to a one-point lead after AJ Lawson’s treble. The main reason why Crimson Tide is hanging strong in the game is that they lead in the 17-10 glass. The visitors have 10 offensive rebounds, leading to nine second chance points. Carolina leads by 29-28

3:49, 1H – According to Alabama, Juwan Gary is unlikely to return with a shoulder injury. Lawson and Leveque lead the Gamecocks in scoring with eight points each. Carolina leads 31-30

The visitors’ came at a dunk by Keon Ellis, who dived into AJ Lawson, and was beaten on the court while trying to show the South Carolina guard. This led to a Minaya tray on the other side. 7:51, 2H – South Carolina reduced the deficit to just one point, but Alabama extended the lead to four and now has the ball. After losing the front of a one-and-one, Alabama was able to recover and find John Petty for an open three-point corner. In the next possession, Seventh Woods was called in for a charge, giving him four fouls to go along with the turn. Alabama leads 68-64

3:37, 2H – South Carolina is getting a good look behind the 3-point line, but has failed to connect enough. Gamecocks are 5 out of 22, which is 23 percent. Alabama leads 76-70

52.5, 2H – South Carolina reduces the deficit to just two points after AJ Lawson’s three-point goal and Keyshawn Bryant’s mid-range shot. It’s tight. Alabama leads 78-76
