Kansas City Chiefs linebacker trainer Britt Reid was suspended from the team … while the police investigated his involvement in a serious car accident that left a 5-year-old girl fighting for her life.
As we reported earlier, police say Reid admitted to drinking alcohol and Adderall before a bad car accident at around 9 pm on Thursday night, which left a child in critical condition.
The child’s family members say the girl suffered major brain damage in the accident … including swelling and internal bleeding. She hasn’t woken up since the accident.
Reid – who did not travel with the Chiefs to the Super Bowl LV in Tampa last weekend – was officially placed on administrative leave, the team announced on Tuesday.
“We are continuing to collect information about the incident and will continue to assist local authorities as requested,” the team said in a statement.
“Our focus remains on Ariel Young and his family. We reach out to the family to offer our support and resources to them during this difficult time and we will continue to pray for their recovery. ”

Chiefs Head Coach Andy Reid – Britt’s father – too addressed the situation after the Super Bowl defeat on Sunday … saying, “My heart goes out to all those who were involved in the accident, especially the family with the girl who is fighting for her life.”
