Eagles appear all-in on Jalen Hurts as the starting QB this season – EagleMaven
It appears that the Eagles’ front line agrees to have Jalen Hurts as a full-back in 2021, after a source close to the situation told SI.com Eagle Maven that former coach Doug Pederson wanted Carson Wentz to return as the next team’s starter. season. Pederson was supposed to want Hurts to be the starter in 2021 because, after all, it was Pederson who put Wentz in the last four games of the season. That was not the case. “Doug did not accept Hurts the way (GM Howie) Roseman did,” said the source, “(e) the two were unable to agree on their future with the team.” This indicates that Pederson’s dismissal on January 11 had more to do with his desire to have assistants like Press Taylor and Matt Burke back and may be the reason why Wentz is angry with the board. [BLG Note: This report goes against what Troy Aikman previously said about Pederson wanting Hurts.]
Pros and cons of Eagles trading Carson Wentz – BGN
Wentz may not be very good now. He’s 17-21-1 as a starter since he tore his ACL. He does not appear to be the same athlete after multiple injuries (knee, back, concussion). He was arguably the worst full-time defender in the NFL last season. It is difficult to have supreme confidence in Wentz being “fixed” when there is a lot of evidence to suggest that he is not a very trainable player. It doesn’t look like he was humble with the bank; he would have complained to Jeffrey Lurie and Howie Roseman after it happened. There is a lack of self-awareness here.
None of this makes sense – PhillyVoice
If this were any other owner-GM relationship, would Roseman still be here? Is your hand not in all these movements? Isn’t he on the hook for Pederson’s dismissal? For Sirianni’s hiring? For the huge contract handed over to Wentz? To write Does it hurt? For the eventual commercial compensation that the Eagles receive for Wentz? For the $ 34 million in dead money they’ll have to swallow this season if they change Wentz? For the aging list full of bloated contracts that will keep the Eagles from really fighting for years to come? And to find the next defender on the team? Will he ever have to pay for his mistakes? Or will the team’s new explosive status provide Roseman with even more unwarranted job security as Lurie’s consigliere? At some point, won’t Lurie himself have to answer for these mistakes? When will we be able to understand all of this? Are these questions at least answerable? And, most importantly, do we want to know the answers?
Eagles ‘close’ to negotiating Carson Wentz | Bears and Colts should be final candidates – NJ.com
Carson Wentz’s time with the Eagles is coming to an end, a person with knowledge of his business market told NJ Advance Media on Monday. “I think that ship left,” said the person, who was not allowed to speak publicly and obtained anonymity. “I hope he goes (Monday) or (Tuesday).” According to the person, the belief around the league is that the trade market will be reduced to the Chicago Bears and Indianapolis Colts. Although an undisclosed third team is in the mix, the source noted that the Bears and Colts are in the driver’s seat and a deal is “closed”. Although there is a feeling that GM Howie Roseman is trying to boost the market, the person said Colts GM Chris Ballard and Bears GM Ryan Pace remained “disciplined” during the negotiations.
3 thoughts on Wentz’s future eagle trade – NBCSP
2. The Eagles have seriously spoiled this situation, but neither will we absolve Wentz of the blame. He is not innocent at all. His Type A personality and reported lack of responsibility and reluctance to be trained did not help at all. Did the Eagles create a culture that allowed these negative aspects of Wentz to thrive? Yes, probably. But Wentz is also an adult and sometimes even admitted that he needed to work on the relationship-building part of his personality. And he certainly could have handled things better when the Eagles recruited Jalen Hurts. Of course, the Eagles could have hired a player to help him and his decision to summon Hurts will always be an issue for me. But you just wish you had seen more competition from Wentz. Despite everything that went wrong in 2020, Wentz has the talent to overcome a lot and we have never seen that.

The rumors and reports about the Carson Wentz trade have been around all day and we are following everything here.
NFL overhaul tiers: Which teams will be most different in 2021? – ESPN +
Priorities in this off-season: Where do you start? This goes deeper than the struggles of Carson Wentz. The list is not very good. And to think that the Eagles could have a high-end QB facing them in the April draft. Decide now: fix Wentz or recruit someone, knowing that Jalen Hurts can thrive in any setting. Stay away from Zach Ertz, who would like a change on this point. He has a year left on his contract, and previous efforts at a negotiation have not gone well. Use draft capital to improve secondary and broad receiver points. And restructure a series of contracts to reach the limit.
Jemal Singleton leaving the UK for the Eagles – A Sea Of Blue
After joining the Kentucky Wildcats this season, Jemal Singleton is returning to the NFL. According to Matt Jones of KSR, Singleton is joining the Philadelphia Eagles as his running back coach and assistant head coach. He was hired to be the Kentucky running back coach and coordinator of special teams, so this is a big spot that Mark Stoops needs to fill for the second time this season. Singleton, who has been training since 2000, was hired by Kentucky in January after spending the past five years in the NFL, most recently at Cincinnati Bengals. He also spent time with the Oakland Raiders and the Indianapolis Colts. Singleton was the last special team coordinator in Arkansas in 2015, the only time he has won that title in his career.
The most improved player of all NFL teams in 2020 – PFF
Philadelphia Eagles: WR Travis Fulgham. The Eagles’ receiving corps needed someone, anyone, to step forward after poor performance and injuries at the start of the 2020 season. Fulgham answered that call. Entering the 2020 season without an NFL footprint in his 2019 rookie campaign, Fulgham had his first career start in Week 4 and went on to lead the NFL in receiving yards for the next five weeks. The rest of his season was not so impressive, as several other receiving options started to return from injuries, but his performance for the year as a whole was still impressive, given what everyone knew about the choice of Old Dominion in the sixth round coming per year.
Former NFL player Jeremy Maclin of Mizzou will be named Kirkwood’s next head coach – KSDK
The Kirkwood School District announced the next coach for its football program this week – and it is a household name for NFL and Mizzou football fans. Kirkwood High School athletic director Corey Nesslage will recommend that Jeremy Maclin be named the next football coach. Maclin will succeed coach Farrell Shelton, who announced his retirement at the end of the 2020 football season. Shelton served as head coach at Kirkwood for six seasons.
Seahawks launch lineman Chance Warmack – Field gulls
Warmack hits the free agent market with an impressive track record and is still only 29 years old. He was a top 10 pick after winning national titles under Nick Saban in Alabama and was the right holder of the Tennessee Titans during his rookie contract. However, he was quite disappointing and signed with the Eagles in a free agency, where he spent two years as a reserve guard and won another title (Super Bowl LII).
Giants offseason: 4 main areas to address – Big Blue View
We have already spent a lot of time discussing the expensive and important decisions the Giants have to make about forwards Leonard Williams and Dalvin Tomlinson. The Giants’ list of unrestricted free agents also includes Kyler Fackrell, running back Wayne Gallman, offensive tackle Cameron Fleming, reserve quarterback Colt McCoy and the favorites of Judge Nate Ebner and Dion Lewis. How many will be back? Also, how many players like Golden Tate, Kevin Zeitler, David Mayo and Cody Core will have to be sacrificed at the altar of the salary cap?
The 5 NFL winners and 4 losers in the 2020-2021 season – SB Nation
Ron Rivera. The Washington coach did not allow a little thing like cancer, squamous cell carcinoma to be exact, to stop him from training. He trained during treatment for the disease, led the football team to an unlikely NFC East title and finally – and most importantly – emerged with a clean bill of health. What a year for Washington, by the way. Smith’s return. Rivera’s courage. You can even play Chase Young by earning the Defensive Rookie of the Year honors.
