Phoebe Bridgers says she broke her guitar in ‘SNL’ with the blessing of the Danelectro brand

While the music world continues to discuss Phoebe Bridgers’ guitar break in Saturday Night Live Last weekend, the singer and songwriter revealed that the company that made the guitar gave his blessing for its destruction.

On his first appearance on the show, Bridgers concluded his ‘I Know The End’ performance by smashing his Danelectro guitar against a monitor. The move has sparked controversy online, with some calling it “disappointing“,“extra” it is a “unreasonably strange display of white privilege“.

Now, Bridgers gave some hints about the success seen around the world, saying that Danelectro was informed in advance that she would do this, and they even wished her luck.

In response to Jason Isbell saying that the guitar would only cost $ 85, Bridgers wrote: “I told Danelectro I was going to do this and they wished me luck and told me that they are hard to break”.

Another musician, Kathleen Edwards, shared her complaints over the monitor who was receiving the scam, with Bridgers responding saying the monitor was fake and done specifically so that she could break it.

Danelectro also commented on the success, writing “I hope everyone had a great weekend…?”.

Along with “I Know The End”, Bridgers also sang “Kyoto”, a Grammy nominee – both songs taken from his 2020 album “Punisher”, which NME voted one of the best albums of the year.

In a five-star review of the album, NMEEl Hunt wrote: “The LA composer’s ability to paint this lingering sense of dread so vividly is perhaps the biggest factor in her rapid rise to a domestic indie cult name; just look at the state of the world now.

Bridgers recently spoke after allegations of abuse made against Marilyn Manson by several women, claiming that Manson told her that he had a “rape room” in his home when she was just a teenager.
