People looking to get their COVID-19 vaccines at CVS Health will have to wait another day while the pharmaceutical giant postpones its vaccine launch until February 12.
Pharmacies like CVS will receive vaccines from a federal partnership, and shipping delays on the network have forced CVS to open their registrations and start vaccinations later than originally announced, said Monica Prinzing, a spokeswoman for CVS Health.
The company will supply 38,000 vaccines in 70 locations in Texas, including an undisclosed number in Houston. CVS will not provide a complete list of participating sites because “active deposits will change regularly based on vaccine delivery”.
As of February 11, people can visit CVS.com or call customer service at 800-746-7287 to sign up for a COVID vaccine appointment if they fall into Texas 1A or 1B categories.
Federal officials turned to CVS Health and several other drugstore chains, including Walgreens and Rite-Aid, to distribute the Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines to the public.
